Dr. Alex Yusupov
Dr. Yusupov completed his Bachelor of Dental Science in 1989 and completed his Masters of Dental Science in 1992, both at the University of Melbourne. He has been in private practice for over 25 years and has been a SureSmile user and faculty member for 8 years. Dr Yusupov is a clinical demonstrator at the University of Melbourne and his interests include inter-disciplinary treatments and the use of 3D technologies in orthodontic practice.
Dr. Brent Bankhead
Dr. Brent Bankhead received his dental training from the University of Iowa and orthodontic training from St Louis University. He is a second generation orthodontist and integrated SureSmile into his orthodontic practice in 2007, with over 1,000 SureSmile finishes. A SureSmile faculty member since 2010, Dr. Bankhead works closely with the design team to develop and implement the latest in orthodontic technology. His teaching specialty is SureSmile Aligner as well as the broader spectrum of SureSmile. Brent serves as a mentor for numerous SureSmile doctors, training them both on-site and hosting monthly SureSmile Study Club webinars.
Dr. Chris Chang
Dr. Chris Chang is the founder of Beethoven Orthodontic Center and Newton’s A Inc. in Hsinchu, Taiwan.
He received his PhD in Bone Physiology and Certificate in Orthodontics from Indiana University. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and an active member of Angle Society-Midwest.
Dr. Chang is the publisher of Journal of Digital Orthodontics and has authored and co-authored many orthodontic books, including Orthodontics Vols. 1-6, as well as Words of Wisdom, Jobsology and Trumpology.
He is the inventor of OrthoBoneScrews(OBS®).
Chng Chai Kiat
A/Prof Chng Chai Kiat is the Chief Dental Officer of Singapore and Registrar of the Singapore Dental Council. He is the Head and Senior Consultant, Cleft and Craniofacial Dentistry Unit, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He teaches at both the post-graduate Orthodontic Programme as well as the Pediatric Dentistry post-graduate programme. He is also the chairperson of the Dental Specialist Accreditation Board in Singapore.His areas of interest include biomaterials, cleft and its relation to airway space and sleep apnea; and on Surgery-First. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Masters in Dental Surgery (Orthodontics) from the National University of Singapore and completed a Fellowship Programme in Cleft and Craniofacial Orthodontics from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and College of Dental Surgery Surgeons.
Dr. Greg Huang
Dr. Huang attended dental school at the University of Florida, and then received his Certificate in Orthodontics and MSD from the University of Washington in 1989. He also holds an MPH in Epidemiology from UW. Dr. Huang has been a faculty member at the University of Washington for over 20 years, and he has served as the Chair of the Department of Orthodontics since 2008. He has been a strong proponent of Evidence-based Orthodontics and has conducted many clinical studies. Dr. Huang is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, as well as an Angle Society member. He has published more than 80 scientific articles and is the editor of two orthodontic textbooks: Evidence-based Orthodontics. 2nd edition, and Orthodontics: Current Principles and Techniques. 6th edition. He serves on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Orthodontics and Orthodontics and Craniofacial Research, and he has also served as an Associate Editor for the AJODO. He recently received the AAOF Louise Ada Jarabak Memorial International Teachers and Research Award.John Morton
John Morton received his degree in Biomedical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He obtained a firm foundation in orthodontic biomechanics as Director of Research with colleague Dr. Charles Burstone at the University of Connecticut, Department of Orthodontics researching and developing the principles of Segmented Arch Technique, Variable Modulus Orthodontics, and Differential Moments to name a few. He has been a consultant for the National Institutes of Health, many universities and orthodontic corporations throughout his forty year career in orthodontic biomechanics. John joined Align Technology in 2007 and presently holds the position of Vice President, Technical Fellow. He served as a Visiting Professor at Columbia University in 2019. John’s team at Align is dedicated to improving clear aligner treatment and has developed the SmartForce™ features, SmartTrack material and SmartStage algorithms introduced in past years which improve the predictability of the Invisalign system. John lectures all over the globe on biomechanics in orthodontics and has addressed many of the national societies. Dr. John Yau is a private orthodontist practising in Hong Kong and serving as Honorary Clinical Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Dentistry, HKU. Dr. Yau completed his specialist training in The University of Hong Kong. He has been invited and delivered lectures in Australia, China, Dubai, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, including the 7thWorld Implant Orthodontic Conference in Dubai (2015), 10th Asia Pacific Orthodontic Conference in Bali (2016), 7th World Society of Lingual Orthodontics Congress in Bangkok (2017), and 10th World Implant Orthodontic Conference in Bali (2018). In recent years, Dr. Yau has served the HKDA as a member of scientific committee of HKIDEAS.The fields of his clinical interests and research include the versatile biomechanics with using temporary anchorage devices (TADs) in labial, lingual fixed appliances and aligner systems, digital orthodontics, and TADs-assisted-surgery-first protocol.

Dr Joseph Bouserhal is a Professor of Orthodontics and Research Laboratory Director at the Saint Joseph University of Beirut. He is also the Adjunct Clinical Professor of Orthodontics at the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He is a member of the Tweed Foundation for Orthodontics Research and Education and a member of the Angle East Society of Orthodontists.
Dr. Juan Carlos Perez Varela
Dr. Juan Carlos Perez Varela received his Degree in Medicine and Dentistry (MD, DDS) from the University of Santiago de Compostela and his Post-Graduate Degree in Orthodontics from the University of Valencia MS (Prof JA Canut). He also holds a Ph. D in Medicine and Surgery. PhD. From the University of Santiago de Compostela and has a Research Fellowship at University of Ohio (Prof. Zeev Davidovitch).
Dr. Juan Carlos Perez Varela is a member on the Spanish Board of Orthodontics, the European Board of Orthodontics, and the Ibero American Board of Orthodontics. He is also an active member of The Angle Society of Europe.
He is currently a Professor of Orthodontics at the School of Dentistry of the University of Santiago de Compostela, a Visiting Professor at the University of Valencia, the University of Oviedo, Complutense University of Madrid, Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, Teknon Clinic, University of Barcelona and the Ferrara University in Italy. Dr. Varela has received the Houston Award from European Orthodontic Society, the Renato Africa APOS Trend Award from the Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society and the Moriyon and Jose Antonio Canut Awards from the Spanish Orthodontics Society.
Dr Varela has held various association and board positions. He is the Past President of the examination committee of the Spanish Board, President of Spanish Society of Orthodontist (SEDO) and President of the National Commission of Dental Specialities. He is also a Member of the Scientific Committee of the Angle Society of Europe, Past President of the Spanish Association of Specialist in Orthodontists (AESOR), Past President of the Scientific Committee of SEDO.
He is the co-developer of the Full Smile System and has authored numerous articles and chapters. Kau Chung How
Dr Chung H. Kau is Professor and Department Chairman at the Department of Orthodontics, University of Alabama at Birmingham and Clinical Professor in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics (US), Specialist Orthodontist on the Singapore Dental Council and completed Specialist Registration with the General Dental Council (UK). He holds a full license to practice in Minnesota and faculty licenses in Alabama and Texas. He serves as the Director of the Craniofacial Orthodontia Clinic in partnership with the Children’s Rehabilitation Service and Medicaid of Alabama and enjoys practicing clinical orthodontics with a special interest in Craniofacial Anomalies and Dento-facial Deformities. He is also a researcher with a keen interest in clinical translational research focusing on dent-facial deformities, juvenile idiopathic arthritis, accelerated tooth movement and 4D jaw tracking. At present, he is Principal Investigator on a number of NIH and Industry grants and has a research involvement in excess of US$4+ million dollars. He actively contributes and publishes in the orthodontic literature and has over 400 peer-reviewed publications, conference papers and lectures. Kelvin Foong
Associate Professor Kelvin Foong (BDS (Singapore), MDS Orthodontics (Adelaide), MOrthRCS (Edinburgh), PhD (Singapore)) is a tenured senior academic clinician at the Faculty of Dentistry, National University of Singapore where he joined in 1994. He is the Director of the Orthodontics Residency Programme at NUS, a role which he has served in since 2000. As an educator, he focuses on transforming novice postgraduates to competent graduates who are equipped with the skills to attain professional expertise in the onward journey as orthodontists. His educational inquiries revolve around how students learn with and without technology and how to make this learning visible.
Dr. Maggie Chiu
Dr. Chiu is the first group of certified aligner orthodontist member and Director of Council with the Taiwan Association of Aligner Orthodontics (TAAO). She has been in private practice since 2002 and works part-time at the Cardinal Tien Hospital since 2008. In 2012, she has been the director of Trust Dental Care Clinic.
Since 2009, Dr. Chiu has been the earliest certified provider for the Invisalign System in Taiwan and has accumulated extensive experience in optimising and tailoring the system for her patients with the Clincheck system. From 2015, she has integrated new medical technology into aligner patients to improve clinical efficiency and aligner tracking.

Mario Chorak
Dr. Mario Chorak earned his Certificate of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from the Oregon Health Sciences University in 2001. Throughout his schooling, Dr. Chorak earned numerous honors and awards for his excellence in research and academic achievement, including being a finalist for both the American and International Hatton Awards in Dental Research and was one of the few students inducted into the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon.
He has published articles for the American Association of Dental Research, the Journal of Clinical Virology, and Orthodontic Perspectives Innova. Dr. Chorak has served as the Secretary, Vice President, and President of the Washington State Society of Orthodontists. He has lectured on and was a Focus Group member for Self-Ligating brackets and Class II correctors. Dr. Chorak shares his time between his practices in Renton and Mercer Island, WA.
Nikhilesh Vaid
Dr Nikhilesh R. Vaid is currently the President of the World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO). He has been an important advocate for the profession globally, having served as a past president of the Asian Pacific Orthodontic Society (APOS) and the Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS). He has published extensively in the areas of Digital Technology, Class II Treatment, TADs, Aligners, Treatment Outcomes and Artificial Intelligence Applications in Orthodontics. He has been the editor-in-chief of APOS Trends in Orthodontics from 2010 - 2020. Dr Vaid is the only guest editor in the world for Seminars in Orthodontics to have been invited 4 times to contribute as guest editor.

Dr Sandra Tai
Dr Sandra Khong Tai received her training in Orthodontics at the University of Minnesota, USA. She is a practicing Specialist in Vancouver, Canada and Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia. She is also Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of the Pacific in San Francisco. Dr Tai is a Diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics and was Invisalign certified since 2000. She is currently an Invisalign Diamond Plus Provider who has treated over 3,000 cases. Dr Tai is the author of the textbook “Clear Aligner Technique”. (Quintessence Publishing 2018) available in 11 languages. She has authored a chapter on Clear Aligner Treatment in the 7th edition of Graber’s Orthodontics (Elsevier 2021). She is a reviewer for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, as well as on the Editorial Board of the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics.
Simon Graf
Simon Graf received his postgraduate in orthodontics from the University of Basel. He opened the clinic Smile AG in Belp, Switzerland and is in private practice there. He is the inventor and pioneer in CAD/CAM procedures for metal and acrylic 3D printed orthodontic appliances.
Dr. Graf has a specific interest in the translation of orthodontic procedures, specially of orthodontic appliances, in the digital world. He started in the beginning of 2014 with a CAD/CAM-procedure for 3D-metal-printed rapid-palatal-expansion device (hyrax) directly from an intraoral scan. As soon as he was able to establish a standardized protocol for this appliance, he continued to work on the Herbst-appliance, lingual arch, etc. and proceeded to bone-borne appliances.
As the materials are evolving, he is now working on acrylic direct printed removable appliances and on combining different materials, with the goal of simplifying the patients and orthodontist’s life.
He has lectured on these topics extensively since 2016 worldwide and has also been featured in multiple publications.
Dr. Steven J Lindauer, DMD, MDentSc
Dr. Steven J. Lindauer is Norborne Muir Professor and Chair of the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, Virginia Commonwealth University and Editor of The Angle Orthodontist (since 2012). He attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine, earning a D.M.D. in 1986, and a Master of Science in Dentistry as well as a certificate in the specialty of orthodontics in 1989. Upon graduation, Dr. Lindauer joined the faculty of Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Lindauer is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. He is a past-president of the North Atlantic component of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, and is Executive Secretary of the Virginia Orthodontic Education and Research Foundation. Dr. Lindauer has published over 80 scientific research articles and book chapters and has lectured extensively around the world.
Susan Cunningham
Susan Cunningham graduated from Leeds University in 1988. Her orthodontic training was undertaken at the Eastman Dental Institute in London, gaining an MSc in 1994, Membership in Orthodontics in 1995 and PhD in 2000. She is now Professor of Orthodontics/ Honorary Consultant at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute and is Programme Director of the postgraduate orthodontic programme.
Her main research interests are in the psychological effects of dentofacial discrepancies and the process and outcomes of orthodontic and orthognathic treatment. She has published more than 125 original research papers and contributed to a number of specialist textbooks.
Dr. Tommaso Castroflorio
Dr. Castroflorio obtained his DDS Degree from the University of Torino, Italy, in 1998; In 2001 he was certified as a Specialist in Orthodontics summa cum laude from the same University. In 2007 he obtained his PhD in Human Morphology from the University of Milan, Italy. In 2009 he completed a postgraduate course in Orofacial Pain at the University of New Jersey, USA.
Since 2014 he is an aggregate Professor of the Chair of Orthodontics and of the Specialization School of Orthodontics of the Dental School of the University of Torino, Torino, and since 2019 he is the vice-director of the post-graduate School in Orthodontics of the University of Torino, Italy. He is involved in research projects focused on aligner, bracket-archwire interactions, and orthodontic tooth movement biology. He is author or co-author of more than 100 publications on peer-review journals, national dental journals and of chapters of books.
He serves as reviewer for the most important dental journals in the field of Orthodontics and Oral Physiology. He is member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics.
He is a founding member and board member of the European Aligner Society. His private practice is located in Torino, Italy.
Dr. Ute Scheider-Moser
Dr. Ute Scheider-Moser received her DDS from the University of Mainz, Germany. She specialized in orthodontics at the University of Ferrara, Italy and is currently in private practice in Bolzano, Italy together with Dr. Lorenz Moser.
She has held positions such as the President of the Accademia Italiana di Ortodonzia (AIdOr) and is the current President of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists (EHASO), Angle East Chapter. She is also an active member of the Società di Ortodonzia Italiana (SIDO), the EHASO (Angle East) and a Diplomate of the Italian Board of Orthodontists (IBO).
Dr Schneider-Moser is a recipient of the Brainerd F. Swain Award of Excellence from the EHASO.
Since 2011, Dr. Schneider-Moser lectures as a visiting professor at the Department of Orthodontics, University of Ferrara. She is also an AJODO Reviewer and has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals.
